Connor has had basketball camp each morning from
9:00 – 11:00 at Hillsdale College. It’s
crazy to think my little boy is already going to basketball camps at
colleges. He was definitely nervous as I
have been coaching all his basketball for the last 3 years, and it warms my
heart that he was still didn’t understand why the Hillsdale College Coaching
staff wouldn’t want his dad to be there to teach basketball. It’s good to still be a hero to him, it’s the
big reason I am doing all of this.
My lovely daughter, Emmy, is spending her week at
cheerleading camp. She has been doing cheering,
gymnastics, and dance for about three years now. Although I have never coached one of her
cheerleading teams, her mom has coached all of them. Jen is actually well known in the Hillsdale
County cheerleading community, far more then I am in basketball, and Jen was
asked to assist in the camp as well, so her and Emmy need to be dropped off at
8:40 and they get out at 3:30.
So my days this week have me getting up at 6:30 and
driving to the gym, working out, and driving home. Then I get around and drive everyone into
Hillsdale where I drop Jen and Emmy off, then Connor off. From there I have to waste a couple hours
before picking Connor up and driving him home.
Making lunch for him and then myself, I then have to take him to work
with me. After work we head out to pick
Jen and Emmy up from cheerleading and finally get home about 4:00 in the
afternoon.
That all being said, my early morning workouts have
been going well. This morning I
continued to push myself farther than I did last week. This morning was cardio and I kicked, punched
and kneed until I could barley move afterwards.
My body is starting to tire physically though with less sleep and more
work. At some point, I am going to have
to add a full night’s sleep to my schedule.
As far as food goes, I got the calories up to about
1700. I was able to do this because of
the wonders of Green Goodness, a blend of fruits and vegetables. It’s like juicing but without the mess to
clean up afterwards. Here’s a look at today’s
food journal:
Post Workout:
Protein Drink (1 scoop protein powder, 8 oz skim milk ) (220 Calories)
Breakfast: Bolthouse Farms
Green Goodness 32 oz. (560 Calories)
Lunch: 3 medium scrambled eggs,
mushrooms, cheese stick (245 Calories)
Afternoon Snack: Cheese Stick, Low Fat Cottage Cheese
(160 Calories)
Dinner: Tilapia, Brown Rice, Peppers and Spinach
(377 Calories)
Evening Snack: Peanut Butter Cookie (72 Calories)
Well that’s
been today, tomorrow is my anniversary so I won’t be recording calories,
although I will be eating healthy and trying to stay within my calories or
close to it. More tomorrow on it. Till then…
