Power 90 Day 4, We are the Champions!

Day 4 done, and marked off.  Today was a better day as well; although I got up late again, it was an honest oversleeping and not just wanting to skip a work out.  Day 4 was my second day of Cardio and Abs, and let me say:  I still hate Ab Ripper.  The worst 4 minutes of the day.  I am writing this at 10:30 in the evening and my abs still feel shaky.  I guess that’s why you only have to do the workout every other day.  I look forward to getting to a point with my fitness where I could do it every day.

All in all, I was happy with what I did today, only had to hit pause twice during the regular workout.  And I managed to get through 45 crunches out of 100 in Ab Ripper.  The work outs do still seem very 80’s but they are not bad, and I am enjoying the workout once I get into it.

Today was a great day for another reason as well.  As I said day 1, I am also a coach, I usually coach varsity sports but I also like to coach my 9 year old son’s teams.  Tonight we won the Hudson city championships for the 8-12 year old division.  We won the game 5-0 completely holding the other team.  I know its youth sports, but it always feels great to win.  I also skipped the victory ice cream sundaes, and didn’t take the victory trip to Chinese Buffet that sounded so good.

Chinese Buffets have always been a weakness of mine.  I know I could eat well at them; a Mongolian BBQ offers a number of fresh vegetables and some lean chicken, shrimp or crab.  I also have a weakness however, for things like Peanut Chicken, Pot Stickers, and Crab Rangoon’s; none of which fit in with my new eating.  Maybe someday I’ll be like my good friend Randy Barton and can Buffet all day with great results, but I don’t think I am there yet.

Once we got home, I did celebrate with a victory BBQ.  I picked up some Jennie-O Turkey Bratwurst, only 170 calories, some whole wheat buns, and some fresh asparagus.  Turned out to be a great meal, and I am happy I went with those choices.  Here’s a copy of the rest of my menu today, I was really low on my calories, but I felt full throughout the day.

Post Workout:  Protean Drink (1 scoop protean 8 ounces skim milk)   (220 Calories)

Breakfast:  3 large eggs scrambled (285 Calories)

Lunch: Peach Shake & String Cheese (8 ounces skim milk, 1 scoop whey protein, 2 peaches)    (342 Calories)

Afternoon Snack: 1 slice Colby Cheese (100 Calories)

Dinner:  2 Jennie-O Turkey Brats, 2 Aunt Millie’s Whole Wheat Buns, Fresh Asparagus (539)

Evening Snack:  Activia light, fat free, yogurt (70 Calories)

Total calories for the day 1556, and I had Brats.  Wish I would have been inspired to do this years and years ago.  I am also really looking forward to sharing my first week’s weight loss.  So far this week I have been putting up biggest loser type numbers.  I am going to try to hold off until this weekend or Monday to share them so you can see the whole week.  So no weight today but I will be back tomorrow with day 5 thoughts.
